Practice Areas

Divorce

The process of divorce is not an easy one. However, I encourage my clients to seek to ease the process by first concentrating on the areas where you and your spouse may be able to agree before moving on to areas where you are at odds. Depending on the circumstances, I recommend mediation, or uncontested divorce.

Child Custody

Contested child custody cases, including modification due to parental relocation, are by far the most difficult. At the same time, there are many parenting arrangements and plans from which parents can choose as long as they serve the children's best interests.

Property Division

Deciding who gets what property is part of every divorce. I can help you divide your marital assets and debts. I can also advise you on what to keep, and what to let go.

Fathers' Rights and Paternity

I represent many fathers in my family law practice, both in divorce and paternity cases. If you want to assert your parental rights, I can help. Contact me for more details. I also handle cases involving grandparents' rights.

Child Support

Usually, in custody cases, one parent is obligated to pay child support. The amount of child support is typically established by reference to Child Support Guidelines found in the Texas Family Code. The amount the court orders in child support should be fair to both parents and paid when due. I handle support matters in both divorce and enforcement actions.

Decree Prior Orders Modification

If there has been a substantial and material change in circumstances since your divorce, it may be time to revisit your original decree. I can help you bring an action to modify the court's previous order relating to custody, possession, or child support. I can also help you enforce child support or your visitation if you are having difficulties with either.

Probate and Estate Administration

If your loved one has passed away and left a will, the will should usually be admitted to probate. If there is no will, the estate still has to be administered. I have represented clients in both situations.

Will Contests and Probate Litigation

If your loved one's final wishes were unclear, or if there is a question concerning the genuineness of the will, you may find yourself facing a probate lawsuit. Probate litigation may include issues of fraud and questions about the decedent's soundness of mind.

Guardianship

A legal guardian has the right to handle the financial affairs of a ward, who can be either a minor child or incompetent adult. I can help you establish a guardianship to protect them and also protect their assets.
