Putting your divorce behind you

No matter how unique your case is, your divorce will be finalized in one of two ways: mutual agreement or court order. When someone first hires me as their divorce lawyer, I explore the areas in which agreement might be possible. Although it sometimes seems unlikely, couples can often find areas on which they can agree. Dealing with those issues first--whether they concern division of assets and debts, alimony /spousal support, child custody agreements, or child support --saves the couple a lot of time, anxiety, and expense. If the couple runs into trouble, mediation is a useful tool for resolving differences.

I consider divorce litigation a last resort. Sometimes, however, agreement is simply not possible, and I believe that you must be prepared to present your case in court, if necessary. During a divorce, emotions can run high. At worst, there will be a history of abuse or domestic violence. If you choose to litigate, I have tried many cases and I have the ability and the experience to zealously defend your property interests and parental rights in court.
