Paternity / Dad's Rights

If you are a father and you want to exert your parental rights, and if you were not married to the child's mother, you must first establish paternity. If you need to prove conclusively that you are the father of a child, I can walk you through every necessary step from the DNA process to the final paternity judgment.If you and the mother are the biological parents, and you can agree on the best interest of your child, you should try to work out a parenting plan for custody, possession, and child support. I can help you compose a plan that will work for both you and the children. If an agreement is not possible, I have the experience and skills necessary to effectively present your case to the court.

Co-Parenting

Whenever I represent someone in a custody case, my approach is always the same. I do not focus on tearing down the other parent. Instead, I focus on my client's superior parenting ability. I concentrate on the positive, not on the other parents' problems. If the other parent has characteristics or behavior that negatively impact their parenting ability, the court will be made aware of them. However, the focus is always on my client's superior parenting skills.

I use this approach because, in the end, even though you and your co-parent may no longer be a couple, you are still a mother and a father. You still have to work together, probably for years, once the court makes its decision. A "scorched earth" policy now will only damage the relationship you have with the children's other parent, and will make it more difficult to effectively co-parent your children.
